Frequently Asked Questions
The questions travelers ask us most before booking. Don't see yours? Call us at (800) 544-0529.
Which cruise should I choose? +
The 26 Glacier Cruise (5.25 hours, 120 miles) is the most complete Prince William Sound experience and best for first-time visitors. The Glacier Quest (3.75 hours, 45 miles) is a shorter afternoon in Blackstone Bay — great for families and tighter itineraries.
Is a hot meal included? +
Yes. Both cruises include a full hot meal served on board.
Will I get seasick? +
We cruise the calm, protected waters of Prince William Sound — not the open ocean. Every ticket includes our No-Seasickness Guarantee.
Are the cruises wheelchair accessible? +
Our high-speed catamarans used on the 26 Glacier Cruise can accommodate most manual and motorized wheelchairs at a limited number of accessible tables. Some Glacier Quest vessels require stairs or crossing a raised threshold. Please call ahead so we can arrange the right vessel and seating.
Can I bring children? +
Absolutely. Both cruises are family-friendly, with child fares and indoor reserved seating. The Glacier Quest's shorter duration is popular with younger children.
What should I wear? +
Layers, layers, layers. A warm jacket, hat and closed-toe shoes are recommended even in July. Rain gear is a good idea.
What if the weather is bad? +
We cruise rain or shine — Alaska weather is part of the experience. Captains adjust routes for safety and the best possible viewing.
How do I reach Whittier? +
Self-drive through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, or take our coach, the Alaska Railroad, or a coach + rail combination. See our Getting to Whittier guide.
Are there Alaska resident, military or AAA fares? +
Yes — please call (800) 544-0529 to book these discounted fares.
